About Scott Morton
As an industry veteran for 39 years, Scott has been a rep. in Tennessee for most of his career. Like most reps, Scott has been with many different companies: Powell Co., M & W Curios, Discovery World Bunks, American Bedding, Lifestyle Bedroom, Gaines Uph., Johnston-Tombigbee Bedroom, and most recently, United/Simmons upholstery. He is currently co-owner of the Tunica Furniture Market and Family Home Furnishings.
Scott is known for his practical jokes and magic tricks. Just ask him and he will "levitate" for you. Scott has been a past President of the Tenn. Reps Assn., is a current member of IHFRA, and has been recognized as a past Dean of IHFRA. His father was a rep with Gaines Uph. his whole career and his brother, Steve Morton, is a rep in GA.
The inspiration to start the Louisville Furniture Market was derived from his experience organizing two markets in Tunica, Miss. The industry wanted a shorter market, an area that was densely populated, a location that would not raise prices for its visitors, and it all being conveniently located under one roof. Morton was inspired to be the person to listen, and then fulfill the desires of the furniture industry.
Scott says, "I want to thank all the people that have supported me through the early learning period. I pledge to work 24/7 to provide a successful market."
